Main Dock Replacement
The main dock is 53 years old (built 1973) and its pilings are failing. At the July 25, 2026 annual meeting the Club agreed the dock must be replaced, targeting construction this off-season, and no later than the following off-season. Full detail is in the July 2026 minutes.
Where Things Stand
- One preliminary estimate in hand from Lakeshore Innovations (Lodi, NY): $69,680 for the new dock plus roughly $10,000 to remove the old one, approximately $80,000 total. Rough member share is about $8,000 per cottage.
- At least one more estimate is being pursued, with Shamel the preferred second bidder. Larry is pressing the non-responsive contractors and getting Lakeshore's commitment deadline for off-season work.
- Agreed scope: replace in kind at the same length and footprint, steel pilings, raised lower sections with 12-inch step-downs, north corner shifted out about 4 feet. Decking material (wood vs composite, roughly a $20,000 difference) is still being priced.
- When proposals are in, they will be posted here and emailed, and the Club will vote by email or Zoom.
- The Treasurer's member financing framework is available so no cottage is forced to pay the full share at once.
